About Standing Copper Beaver Construction

Standing Copper Beaver Construction (SCB) is a 100% First Nations owned procurement and construction company, founded by David Clifton, a citizen of the Gitga’at Nation and grandson of Hereditary Chief Johnny Clifton. SCB was built to solve a simple problem: industrial and infrastructure spending happens on First Nations territory, but the wealth it creates almost always leaves with outside crews and outside suppliers.

SCB acts as a buying agent, sourcing materials directly against confirmed public tenders and project contracts, never against speculative inventory.

Every high-value order is reviewed by professional engineers before it ships, so technical liability sits with SCB’s partners, not with the Nation.

Working alongside MCW Group of Companies for engineering and Cumulus Technologies for procurement logistics, SCB gives Nations an on-reserve path to earn revenue, lower their own project costs, and build skilled careers, turning construction and infrastructure spending in their territory into a lasting community asset.
