Skyhouse Furniture

Skyhouse Furniture is a contemporary Indigenous design company creating furniture, objects, custom feature pieces and public art. Founded by designer Ashley J MacDonald, the studio works across residential, commercial, cultural and public environments, bringing together strong form, material exploration, storytelling and function. Skyhouse creates sculptural furniture and small-batch objects alongside custom commissions, contract furnishings, installations and site specific public art. The work is grounded in the idea that Indigenous design belongs throughout the contemporary built environment – not as an aesthetic category or an afterthought, but as an active part of how spaces are designed today. Skyhouse collaborates with architects, interior designers, manufacturers, developers, municipalities, cultural organizations and private clients. Based in Niagara, Ontario, Skyhouse works across Canada, creating work that is distinctive, useful, culturally grounded and built for long-term use.
