Trade Pathways In The Prairies

Indigenous businesses navigating shifting trade landscapes

Trade Pathways in the Prairies: Indigenous businesses navigating shifting trade landscapes explores how U.S. tariffs are reshaping Canada’s trade relationship and impacting Indigenous businesses across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

While the findings highlight that Indigenous businesses have been largely left out of tariff conversations, this report brings their perspectives forward through analysis of Statistics Canada data, an online survey of 31 CCIB members in the Prairies and interviews with Indigenous-owned businesses from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Developed in partnership with PrairiesCan, with insights provided by the Business Data Lab, this report contributes to a deeper understanding of Indigenous trade and economic growth in the Prairies. Explore how regional entrepreneurs are successfully adapting.
