EnviroCentre is an Ottawa-based environmental not-for-profit that supports residents, enterprises, and communities to find practical ways to reduce their environmental impact in ways that benefit our communities. Our four key impact areas are Home Energy Efficiency, Sustainable Transportation, Waste and Circular Economy, and Green Infrastructure. We have been working for twenty-five years to promote practical climate action and awareness in our local communities and Eastern Ontario, and we are one of the leading agencies in environmental action.
Residential Energy Efficiency: We help municipalities, social housing providers, and homeowners transition to high-performance, energy-efficient buildings that are net-zero ready. Our work drives deep emissions reductions through programs like the province-wide Energy Affordability Program, comprehensive home energy assessments, PACE loan financing solutions, and the Retrofit Accelerator Project supporting large-scale retrofits for social housing.
Sustainable Transportation: We design and deliver innovative solutions that reduce car dependency and make sustainable mobility the easy choice. From community-focused initiatives like Let’s Bike Month and School Active Transportation Programming to employer-based commuter options programs and post-infrastructure assessments and recommendations, we help municipalities design and implement effective active transportation solutions that shift behaviour toward cleaner, more accessible modes.
Green Infrastructure: We build climate resilience through nature-based solutions that manage stormwater, improve air quality, and enhance urban biodiversity. Signature projects like Rain Ready Ottawa, Tiny Forests, and municipal Tree Planting Programs integrate green infrastructure into urban planning, creating healthier, more livable communities.
Waste and Circular Economy: We provide innovative waste reduction strategies and circular economy solutions that help organizations cut waste and recover resources. From implementing organics collection for social housing providers and improving waste diversion systems for property managers, our services model scalable solutions for sustainable waste management.
EnviroCentre operates on the unceded traditional land of the Algonquin Anishnaabek people. We recognize the Algonquin Anishnaabe have lived on and cared for this land since time immemorial. We are committed to moving toward a full understanding of the meaning of reconciliation, and to ensuring our work embodies the spirit and goals of reconciliation, and helps bring to reality genuine reconciliation in the Ottawa region and beyond.
