Tanlkatek is a small company owned by an aboriginal woman called Martine Maltais who owns 51% of the company and is its President. Tankatek is a distributing arm of Ciara Technology who is a manufacturer of a broad range of personal computers, servers, storage systems and high-performance computer workstations. Incorporated in 1984, Ciara will celebrate this year its 41st year in business in the information technology field. Originally, the company was established in Ville St-Laurent in modest facilities where only a few hundred systems were produced annually. Even in its youth, Ciara always incorporated a high level of quality in every one of its systems. This was an extremely appreciated characteristic by our customers and is a key to Ciara’s successful growth over the years.
Initially focusing in educational circles, the penetration of Ciara continued into the government domain and thereafter in the corporate marketplace. In 1994, Ciara Technology Inc. obtained ISO 9001 certification and continues to maintain its accreditation. Shortly thereafter, Ciara obtained its ISO14001 certification and continues to maintain its accreditation. Ciara products are CSA, FCC, EPA certified and built under Ciara’s ISO 9001 standards and regulations. These standards enable it to establish and maintain its high standards in its assembly, integration and quality control operations as well as the various other services offered by the company.
The growth of Ciara enabled it to be currently housed in an ultra-modern plant of 576 000 square feet. Ciara is now the largest Canadian manufacturer of microcomputers with an output capability of more than 500,000 systems per year.
Ciara is particularly proud of its growth and advancements over the years. In fact, enterprise profits have provided 100% of their financing for progress and growth.
