Introduction
SoilTech is a CCIB Certified Indigenous Business that began operations in 2019 specializing in the fields of geotechnical and materials engineering. In addition to and complimenting our engineering division, we operate a soils, concrete, aggregate, Riprap and asphalt materials testing laboratory and employ experienced laboratory and technical field staff. Since our inception, we have successfully completed over 1000 projects for a wide variety of clientele.
We believe the success of every project begins with a comprehensive understanding of our client’s needs and goals. We understand the demands and constraints on the modern project and pride ourselves in taking a common-sense approach to problems, providing practical cost-effective advice, solutions, and design. By implementing a blend of experience, quick and practical decision making, safe work procedures, open communication, and competitive pricing we provide the collaboration necessary to keep projects on schedule and budget.

Key Personnel
Hans Jorgensen, P. Eng. | Engineering Manager and Partner
Hans completed a BASc in Materials Engineering at the University of British Columbia in 2007. He has worked in the geotechnical field for 21 years while still maintaining an engineering focus on the materials related to the geotechnical field. Throughout his career he has managed technical field staff, soil, concrete, and asphalt laboratories; first a supervisor and then as manager. As the engineering division manager and a project manager at SoilTech since 2019 he has continued to develop a wide range of management skills related to all aspects of geotechnical engineering projects and personnel. With his extensive experience in design and the construction side of projects he provides quick effective solutions to issues that arise. He has acted as the geotechnical the engineer of record on over 70 projects in the past 5 years. He has been involved in a wide variety of projects from geohazard assessments, residential subdivisions, commercial and industrial buildings, highways, to large scale industrial processing plants.
Paul Nielsen, AScT, BComm. | Business Manager and Partner
Paul is a managing partner of SoilTech with over 20 years experience in the engineering and construction field. He holds a B.Comm. in Management and a Diploma of Civil Engineering Technology. Paul specializes on the estimating and quality control aspects of construction projects. He uses his extensive field experience working with contractors to finish projects ahead of schedule. Paul’s experience working as a senior geotechnical technician has exposed him to working with broad range of soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt. He has been involved with various highway, commercial, industrial, subdivision, pipeline and aggregate processing projects.
Mike Warner, P.Geo.
Mike graduated with a BSc. in Geology from the University of British Columbia in 2017 and is currently pursuing and near completion of additional education to become a geotechnical engineer. Mike specializes in geotechnical assessments. gravel pit and rock quarries evaluations. Before coming to SoilTech, Mike worked in the mineral exploration and mining industry. During this time, he has accrued a variety of experience managing diamond drills and horizontal drills, creating/implementing geological logging programs, QAQC and designation of ore and waste rock, geotechnical consultation for mine personnel, and computer modelling of ore stockpiles and till blankets.
