About Chartered Professional Accountants of BC

The Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC) is the training, governing, and regulatory body for over 39,000 CPA members and 6,000 CPA candidates and students.

Indigenous peoples are underrepresented in the CPA profession. To bridge this gap CPABC is working to increase the accessibility and attractiveness of a CPA designation so that our membership reflects the diversity and uniqueness of the communities across British Columbia. We regularly partner with communities, schools, and Indigenous organizations such as the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of British Columbia and the First Nations Financial Management Board to support increasing Indigenous representation within the CPA profession and encourage Indigenous youth to pursue careers in accounting, finance, and business.

The initiatives we take part in range from community-oriented Indigenous Financial Literacy events to working on training opportunities for current and future CPAs on matters important to Indigenous communities. We value collaboration and encourage open communication to ensure all voices have a place with our ongoing initiatives.
