About Aurora Heat, Inc.

Aurora Heat is an Indigenous and Canadian-owned manufacturing social enterprise based in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories. Founded in 2016 by Brenda Dragon, founder and lead, the company has spent the past decade building a Northern brand focused on long-lasting, reusable warmth rooted in Indigenous knowledge and respect for nature.

Aurora Heat manufactures hand, foot, and body warmers using wild beaver fur sourced under Indigenous and Canadian wildlife stewardship in Canada. Designed for durability and cold-climate performance, its products provide a practical, natural alternative to single-use chemical warmers. Production follows near-zero-waste practices, with each pelt utilized fully and responsibly.

The company has scaled through a national and cross-border ecommerce platform, supported by established export documentation, customs compliance processes, and multi-carrier logistics systems. This infrastructure enables reliable fulfillment across Canada and the United States and supports growing corporate, retail, and institutional demand.

Aurora Heat supplies bulk, custom, and contract-based orders and aligns with Indigenous procurement, supplier diversity, and sustainable purchasing priorities. As an Indigenous- and women-led manufacturer, the company contributes to meaningful employment in Northern communities while demonstrating that traditional knowledge and modern manufacturing can work together at scale.
