This award recognizes an individual who has made exceptional contributions to fostering positive and meaningful relations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. Nominees are never satisfied with things as they are. They always look to improve outcomes for Indigenous peoples, building bridges between Canadian society and Indigenous communities. Open to all Canadians. For the first time ever, you can self-nominate.

Nominations for the 2026 cycle will open in spring, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Indigenous businesses are underrepresented in the supply chains of most Canadian corporations and Governments. CCIB is looking for ways to strengthen connections between corporate Canada, Government and Indigenous businesses from coast to coast.

Challenge the Status Quo

Nominee questions and confronts the status quo when it comes to Indigenous relations in Canada.
Career and personal life reflect that they have the vision, determination, and the ability to create change.

Relationships and Collaboration

Demonstrates the ability to build and maintain trustful and respectful relationships with Indigenous communities.
Successfully fosters collaborative partnerships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous groups, businesses, or governments.
Shows a deep understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures, traditions, and values. Earns respect for their commitment, authenticity, and integrity.

Measurable Results

Provides clear, measurable evidence of the impact of their work on Indigenous relations, including specific achievements and success stories.

Demonstrates tangible, positive outcomes resulting from their efforts in Indigenous relations, including improved community well-being and empowerment.
Provides inspirational leadership in the field of Indigenous relations, motivating others to engage in meaningful outcomes.

Candidates are deemed ineligible if they have an existing formal relationship with CCIB (e.g. Board of Directors, CCIB Staff member, Corporate Sponsor, etc.)
