Grace Pastine, KC, is lawyer at Norton Rose Fulbright. Her practice as the firm’s Pro Bono Counsel focuses on leading the firm’s nationwide pro bono practice in Canada, which seeks to provide much-needed legal assistance to people and organizations of limited means.

Prior to joining the firm, Grace devoted her legal career to human rights and civil liberties. She served for 15 years as the litigation director for a nationwide civil liberties organization, spurring reforms related to patients’ rights, police accountability, and the rights of people in prison.

Harjote S. Sumbal, Associate, Norton Rose Fulbright Canada

Harjote S. Sumbal is an associate in Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP’s business law group, with a practice focusing on tax and general corporate and commercial matters. He assists senior counsel in advising clients on various matters, including: tax planning for commercial transactions; tax-efficient corporate structuring and reorganizations; and tax litigation.

Harjote also has experience drafting agreements for infrastructure and construction projects, negotiating public procurements, and advising on public-private partnerships matters. Harjote spent a year in Ottawa clerking for the justices of the Tax Court of Canada.
